CC: IPSG
OUR REF: 19910502427/krs
SUBJECT: CAMPUS, f/n Marc,
Thank you for your response dated 13 July 2007, in this matter. We will update our database
accordingly.
In answer to your inquiry, the USNCB learned of the original 1982 conviction, later overturned
in 1985, in approximately 1991 pursuant to requests for information on the subject to IP France
on behalf of U.S. authorities. The IP France reference numbers were DCPJ/AC/5APB/BCN NR
5188/GRI/NR 5710/DP/BM/91/5751. Additional detailed information about the conviction, appeal,
and dismissal were later provided by the subject in the context of a Freedom of Information Act
(FOIA) request submitted to USNCB.
Please advise whether you provide approval for the USNCB to release copies of messages
from Interpol France to Mr. and Mrs. Campus.
Best Regards,

PRIORITY: Normal
DATE: 09 July 2007
FROM: Interpol Washington
TO: France (Paris)
OUR REF: XXX/krs b2
SUBJECT: Marc CAMPUS, born 08 November 1945

ASSISTANCE REQUESTED:
The United States Central Bureau (USNCB) requests your assistance in updating information
concerning the above-referenced subject, Marc Jean Campus.
Reportedly, Campus was tried and convicted in a court in Valence, France, in approximately
1982. According to documents submitted to the USNCB by Campus’wife, “Extrait des minutes du
Secretariat- Greffe de la Cour d’Appel de Grenoble, Arret Correctionel,” all charges lodged
against Marc Campus were dismissed in 1985.
However, the USNCB has not received any official communication from Interpol France
concerning these dismissals. In order to update our files, please confirm whether the criminal
convictions of Campus were overturned on appeal. In addition, please advise whether you
have any objection to the USNCB providing your response to Marc and Marie Campus.
Regards,
